DAVE MIELE

Dave played baseball at Lehigh Carbon Community College (PA). He then transferred to Shepherd University (WV), where he finished his collegiate playing career. Later became an intern assistant baseball coach at Frostburg State University (MD), and in 2011, he helped lead the team to its first Capital Athletic Conference Championship. Since that time, Dave has been coaching, mentoring, teaching and inspiring youth athletes throughout Maryland. He is currently the Head Varsity Wrestling and Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at St. Paul’s School (Brooklandville, MD). Dave still competes on a national level with the 25+Maryland Dodgers.

GREG ROSS»

Greg began his collegiate baseball journey at the Community College for Baltimore County, Essex Campus (MD). He transferred to Frostburg State University (MD) in his junior year, where he continued to play baseball. Greg was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 18th round of the 2011 MLB draft. He played professionally for seven seasons and moved through the ranks of the minor league system. Greg played professionally in Venezuela (El Tiburones de La Guaira). In 2018, he ended his professional career with the Washington Nationals Triple A affiliate. Following his professional career, Greg began using his experience to train and mentor youth athletes. He is the Varsity Assistant coach for the St. Paul’s School Crusaders in Lutherville. Greg continues to compete on a national level playing with the 25+ Maryland Dodgers.

GREG ROSS

STEPHEN MIELE

Coach Stephen began his collegiate playing career at JUCO powerhouse Potomac State College of WVU. He then went on to West Virginia University (NCAA DI) and later transferred to York College of PA (NCAA DIII). His senior campaign in 2014 Stephen captained the Spartans led the program in triples, home runs, & stolen bases. He still competes on a national level with the 25+ Maryland Dodgers.

MAX GADSDEN

Coach Gadsden was a three-sport varsity athlete at Towson High School. Max also competed in track and field as well as soccer while named Baltimore County Senior All-Star his senior year. He currently attends Ursinus College in PA as a member of the baseball program while majoring in Health & Exercise Physiology. Max captured Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll in Fall 2021. He has been coaching athletes in the area for several years. This will be his first position as head coach.

AJ BARNHARDT

Coach Barnhardt has been involved in baseball at multiple levels for over 22 years. He played his collegiate ball at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. During that time, he began his coaching career in Naples, Maine at Camp Skylemar - a sports summer camp for boys. He would become their director of baseball, leading the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U teams and coaching one-on-one private lessons. He also took on the role of athletic and program director, overseeing all sports areas and facilitating the day-to-day operations of over 350 children and staff. In 2021, AJ joined St. Paul's School for Boys. He teaches Theory of Knowledge and World Religions and will be Assistant Coach for the Varsity Baseball team.

JACK BAYNE»

Jack graduated from Towson High School in 2018. He earned a degree in Environmental Studies from McDaniel College in 2022. His senior season he posted a .303 batting average with 19 RBIs in 28 games. Jack has experience coaching within the Putty Hill travel organization for the past several years. 2022-2023 was his first year as an assistant coach for the St. Paul’s JV program, where he led the team to the MIAA playoffs. This will be Coach Jack’s second season with BEAST Baseball.
